The first season of the Belzebubs animated series, produced by Pyjama Films, has been wrapped up and will begin taking over TV screens in September! The show kickstarts in Finland, where Yle Areena will drop 3–4 episodes per week, both in Finnish and English, starting Thursday the 24th of September. The series will also air through linear TV, one episode per week (in Finnish) through TV2 the 1st of October onwards.

Both language versions of the show boast a fantastic cast. Andrew Wheildon-Dennis (Dragon’s Dogma 2, Baldur’s Gate 3), award-winning singer & comedian Jess Robinson (Spitting Image), James Alexander (Transformers: Cyberworld, Baldur’s Gate 3) and Emma Ballantine (Cyberpunk 2077) lead the English version with Charlie Hiscock (Ted Lasso, Black Mirror), Amalia Vitale (Big Mood), Richard Southgate (Love, Death & Robots), Pippa Haywood (Green Wing, Bridgerton), Safiyya Ingar (Brides, Doctor Who) and David Monteith (Baldur's Gate 3).

The Finnish cast includes the stellar Martti Manninen, Krista Kosonen (Backrooms, Saros), Viivi Tamminen, Antti LJ Pääkkönen, Kosmo Salminen, Elias Salonen (Kalevala: Kullervon tarina), Aksa Korttila (Aikuiset), Linnea Leino (Lapua 1976), Mimosa Willamo (Sisu), Chike Ohanwe (Hevireissu), with industry legends such as Kari Hietalahti, Vesa Vierikko, Carla Rindell and countless others.

The score has been composed by Emmy-winning composer Douglas Black Heaton, naturally with tons of music from Belzebubs, of course.

The first season, consisting of thirteen 22-minute episodes, documents the daily lives of both the band and family, and the infernal struggles of what it is to balance parenting with a rather challenging career path—spreading the satanic gospel of black metal. Everything is in sync with the comics, songs, music videos, you name it, and expands upon the existing lore in trve unique, belzebubsian fashion.

The Prix Europa Award nominated show has so far been sold to Italy (RAI), Spain (TV3), Czechia (Prima) and Iceland (RUV). Banijay Group is handling the distribution.
